OOTD and Fitting Room Reviews: Target

Zac Posen for Target studded dress (buy the top here)
I finally made it to Target last weekend and they had a few Zac Posen items left. The above grommet trimmed dress was one of them. They had it in medium and XL so I brought with me into the fitting room one of each. Once I got there, I realized the XL's zipper was broken so I could only try on the medium which is above. It ran short and small. It fit but awkwardly, and the length was a bad scene on me. The fabric and construction seemed ok for Target but not worth the higher "GO" collection prices. After all, a zipper on the one dress was already wrecked. I passed. They sadly did not have the brocade bow dress which I wanted to try on because of my endless love for this regular Zac Posen number:
It is just as well because I wasn't crazy about the Target version's print.

I wore to Target:

Levis denim jacket (similar here)
American Apparel heathered deep v in black
Anna Sui for Anthropologie skirt (similar here, here, and here)
Burberry flats (similar here)
Jenny Yuen Gatsby bag (similar here)

I also have some reviews from Anthropologie but will post those tomorrow.

i actually think the ZP dress looks great on you! but if it felt weird, and some in the store had broken zippers, i suppose that does not bode well. i love the denim jacket in your OOTD as well. ~joelle

I love the outfit you wore for the day. The Target dress looks incredible on you. The flared skirt gives you a very feminine look- pretty!

I'm usually underwhelmed with Target collabs. I bought a pair of the tuxedo pants and they are waiting to be returned :)

I really like the snaps dress on you! I passed on all the ZP stuff, the price was too much for Target quality. If there's any left once it hits the clearance section, maybe I'll get some then. I love the regular ZP dress you posted too, after seeing it, the Target color looks kinda bad

I like the ZP dress on you, but it's more important that *you* like the ZP dress on you. :) I'm *gasping* over the regular ZP you posted. I didn't catch that the brocade dress was cut very closely to a real deal piece. I think this is what I liked most about the ZP4T -- a lot of the pieces appeared to be cut from runway patterns. I like what you wore to Target too.

Um I think the grommet dress is the HOTNESS on you!

There are a bunch of ZP items in my Target, they don't seem to be moving here. It would have been great if you could have tried on the brocade dress! That would have looked so good on you.

Thank you Joelle! The fabric was definitely odd feeling and broken zippers seem to be a chronic problem for that number. I've been wearing that denim jacket a ton lately. I've had it for years. It was a $10 score from Gabriel Brothers (aka Rugged Warehouse if you have encountered it in the Ohio area).

Najeema, I too have felt very blasé about the target collections. I usually don't bother going early to seek them out but if I happen to run into something I'll try it on.

Brianna, I agree the prices were just too high for the quality at least on the items I saw.

Carole, thank you for the compliment. The regular ZP dress was so pretty and the reference the newer dress made was so straight forward.

Kate, thanks so much! I just wasn't into the length or feel of the fabric.

Desert Flower, I bet that stuff isn't moving because of the price point. The JPG stuff was all over my local target's sale racks. Including the leather jacket and the weird-feeling track dresses. If I see it at another target, I will try on the bow dress.
