Sad day for shoppers in Pittsburgh

Saks Fifth Avenue is closing their downtown store. Read more here. I know the building was in need of extensive renovations but I was hoping an agreement could be reached to keep them in town. It is a real loss to the luxury retail landscape and I hope perhaps they consider setting up shop in the burbs. Burbs would be better than nothing!

That is such a shame! There's nothing like going to Saks to try on the latest DvFs. I think their downtown Cincinnati store recently closed too.

Oh that is too bad :( Maybe they will have a nice closing sale though?

That is sad!  I hate to see downtowns lose stores!

yet another sign of a weak economy, in my opinion. I have not been back to Downtown Pittsburgh in a few years, but i imagine that it will be a loss for consumers, tourists, and employees alike. Sad...

Awww...I always hate it when a store that I love closes.
