Goldilocks Returns: AKA Yay or Nay on this See by Chloe industrial print dress

This See by Chloe number went on a deeper discount at Yoox.com, so I decided to take a gamble and order a 6. I already lamented how the 2 was (obviously) too small and the 8 was way too big. I had high hopes for the 6 but this size was sold out in the lighter colorway that I preferred. Apparently the darker version runs smaller so now I am uncertain about whether to keep or return. What do you think?

I waited since probably November for this to finally be marked down. Instead Yoox moved it from the Fall/Winter arrivals to the Spring/Summer arrivals, (as if I wouldn't notice?!) and kept it at their full discounted price. Now I worry that sale goggles and the long wait are influencing the fact that I like it.

I do not personally like the print, but the cut is very flattering on you. if the print works for you, then I think you should keep it!

Oh... I just reaalized how that sounded and I didn't mean it that way!
I do not like the print FOR ME. I do not often feel comfortable in things that bold. The print is not bad, but I couldn't pull it off. If you "feel" comfortable wearing the print, then you should keep it because the cut is very nice on your figure and it is a very pretty dress. :)
I am sorry that I said that so shortly before, with no explanation. I really was not trying to be snarky!!!

Thank you for the input, Ady! I know the print is kind of bizarre but bizarre in a way that I really appreciate. I think I like the psychadelic factory cogs the most.

No worries! I didn't take it to be snarky at all! xo and thanks again!

I agree with Ady...it IS a very flattering cut on you. And, as an aside...have you gotten slimmer?

You look really good in that dress- I can't tell it is 'big'. It is VERY flattering, and the pattern is really very pretty! This dress makes you look like a bombshell (not that you don't normally) and I say KEEP IT!!

I like the print, it is so fun and the fit is great on you. And I think you pull it off very nicely. I covet you bag!

I actually LOVE that on you !!

I really like it on you too--it's a very cool print and it does not look small on you here. And I am drooling over the bag. This outfit is really swell (I'm not using that ironically).

That said, it sounds like you are unsure and I always feel like when I am unsure I may not want something as much as I thought I did. Again though, that's me.

I love the print and the dress is very you. It doesn't look like there are any fit issues at all. It looks like it can be worn for the majority of the year. I'm a sucker for that type of material, too.

The dress is gorgeous and you look gorgeous in it. I say keep it! (Or sell it to me at an even more remarkable discount.)

You know what I'm going to say - I love it! It's a gorgeous print, and I think the dress and it's shape suit you. Keep it!

I like it, Jess. It's perfect with your bag too.

I love the print, but sadly you will always have to stand next to that poster for the full effect! ;P

My sale goggles are so out of control- I shouldn't even be relaying my opinion.

I like the print and it makes your waist look tiny! I say keep. (Also, it goes with the framed poster behind you!)

Thanks so much everyone!

swee2th, it is possible but it would depend on from when you were comparing. Though I am not consciously trying to do so...

Meli22, haha bombshell, eh? That is awesome! Thank you!

Jessica the bag is a favorite of mine and I think it brings out the grays in the print. Thanks!

Leslie thanks for the support!

Dorky Medievalist, It could read that I feel ambivalent about the dress but I really love it and think this one is the best contender of what I've tried. But after so much trial and error I wanted outside opinions. Thanks for the advice! I definitely agree that typically lukewarm means return or else it will languish.

Tien, it definitely can be winterized which I look forward to! And it is fully lined so although it won't work on the hottest of hot days, it will be useful year round I think.

A-dubs, haha! You are too funny!

Lynette, Thanks so much!

My Name Is Gee, thank you!

Marianne, The sleeves are poofy for sure but I like the length. It makes the dress unique from other things I own.

Lady Cardigan, Thank you!

Elisa, thanks so much for the compliment!

A Stylized Hysteria, haha you are sweet!

Little Miss Plump, thanks for the advice!

Carole, I don't have enough prints with gray so I was excited about this one because of how it would look with the color of the bag's leather.

Sarah, until you and Amblus had mentioned it, I didn't even realize how nicely I match the hallway art! haha

Amblus, thank you! I like how it nips in the waist too. Good eye on the matching poster tip!
