Picnic Lunch Outfit for Chris's Last Day

Today is Chris's last day of summer work (we think) so Speck and I met him on campus for a picnic lunch. My attempt at pattern mixing here falls a little flat due to the plentiful shades of browns.
Cartography Cardigan from Anthropologie similar here and here
Anna Sui for Anthropologie Skirt (similar here, here, and here)
Banana Republic tee
Alviero Martini map bag from ebay (similar here and here)
Miu Miu bufalo cabachon flats (similar here)
The picnic basket was overflowing.
In it I had fresh baguette, chocolate croissant, quiche lorraine and veggie quiche from La Gourmandine, Pellegrino sodas, fresh local strawberries and organic cherries, fancy prosciutto, and farmer's market goat cheese. There was live music in Schlenley plaza so we relaxed and enjoyed the breezy humid day. We couldn't eat all the food but it will be a great snack lunch for tomorrow.

Your picnic sounds and looks amazing! I don't think your pattern mixing falls flat at all. You look great. Love that bag. How I wish that cartography cardigan didn't wash me out. It looks so wonderful on you.

How fun! I have been daydreaming of a picnic basket filled with baguettes, cheese, and wine.

I actually love the mix of patterns!

how sweet! Rachel and I had a picnic this afternoon as well, it wasn't as posh though lol. Really love the mixing of patterns, I think they fit well together

Does this mean Chris leaves soon, then?

You are lovely, both sartorially and romantically!

I honestly think that cardigan is like a neutral, it seems to go with everything you pair it with. Very nice outfit, I particularly like the pattern on the skirt. The picnic food looks fabulous!

Picnics are my favourite things about summer! Food tastes so much better when eating it outside, in my opinion.

You look great, I like the way you've paired the cardigan with the skirt

I like the shape of the bag you got. I found a map print shopping tote at an antique mall a couple months ago, I am kind of regretting not buying it! :P

Tien, when I was putting together the basket, I thought to myself that this picnic would be Tien-approved. But I didn't take the time taking lovely food photos. I wish I had...

Kate, it was the first picnic in a while where I actually brought out a basket. It seemed fitting and it was received so warmly by Chris.

Gee, thanks so much for the kind words!

Amblus, I especially like the map theme because it reminds me of a Risk (the board game).

Jessica, I am starting to get a hang of the print mixing I think. Thank you!

Brianna, my picnics are usually a lot more low key also. But any picnic is a good time!

A-dubs, thank you so much! He was going to be leaving soon but we are currently deciding whether or not he should go in October after wedding stuff is out of the way. We'll see.

Desert, I try to wear the cardigan like a neutral but I worried this was too many different shades of brown.

Little Miss Plump, I agree that food tastes even better outside with the accompaniment of a breeze and some greenery.

Joelle, thanks so much!

La historiadora de Moda, thank you for readig!

Tastymoog, map prints seem to be popping up all over lately! I hope you find another option soon.
