On the way there, my beloved (and older) car hit a milestone.
We stayed on a higher floor of our hotel (a Hyatt) that had a view of Lake Michigan!
We visited the Taste of Chicago festival and danced with Chicago-ans to beautiful standards performed by a jazz band.We waited patiently to finally eat at Avec (a restaurant we didn't get to visit last November but were thrilled to try). Here we are waiting and drinking out front in the designated "holding pen" as we called it.
I wore the See by Chloe industrial print dress I blogged about a few entries back.
Overall, it was a great trip! I will have some fitting room reviews from Barneys and Anthropologie as well as a roundup of purchases over the next few days.

I love Chicago! I wish we'd had more time on our recent Midwestern tour and could have done more than circumnavigate it. I'm glad to know someone else was enjoying it!
I can't wait to see your fitting room reviews! How was Avec? I'm so looking forward to my Chicago trip in October!
I'm glad you had a great time in Chicago! And ack, I loooove your dress. I am convinced you have the best collection of printed dresses out of anyone I know!!
Happy to have you back :) Such a milestone to reach with your car! That's great. Mine is soon to hit 150,000. DH keeps telling me to buy a new one and I'm much to attached to think about that.
Glad you had a great time and glad you're back. :)
la historiadora, I too love Chicago! I hope you get back there soon enough!
Kate, Avec was wonderful! We barely had a wait to get in (sadly they don't take reservations) on a Thursday night. We got three small plates, a large plate, a dessert we split, and a bottle of wine. It was almost way too much food. But we were starving when we arrived because we had driven to town that day and only ate some cherries and crackers on the drive over. Definitely worth checking out next time you're there!
Goldenmeans, thanks so much! I am convinced you have the most lovely collection of just about everything from your blog! :)
Desert Flower, I feel irrationally attached to my old car too. Although it has had its problems, it has also stuck with me. I hope mine makes it to 150,000!
Carole, thanks so much! xo
