Doubly Dapper (Outfit of the) Day

I wrote last week about scoring the Doubly Dapper dress on the Anthropologie rack at my local Gabriel Brothers. But I feared when I bought it that it would soon be too chilly to wear. Well I was wrong and the weather took another turn for the sweaty. Tuesday was a great day for a light and comfy dress like this one! Regarding fit, this is a 10 and although it is somewhat blousey on top, I think an 8 would have been too snug on my hips.

In case it does get cool, I plan to throw this drapey cardigan by Free People (also via Gabes) over top.

The dress looks fabulous on you! I have one in my cart right now and am hoping it is still there when I get another one of my writing goals accomplished and can buy it!

the doubly dapper dress looks amazing on you--shows off your teeny waist!

La Historiadora de Moda, I wonder if it will get a second cut. I feel like it will because it is still SO expensive. I really like it though and think it will make a great reward dress for completing a writing project or revision!

Dea, thank you so much! haha Gabes is so unimpressive in real life (like hot dog counter in the front, and holes in most of the clothes, unimpressive) but occasionally it holds treasures. If you come to SWPA for a conference or just for fun, I promise to show you the Gabriel Brothers shopping scene.

Brianna, thank you!! xo

Sharon, thanks so much! you are too sweet!

Thank you so much for putting sizing info up on your blog--esp. for Anthro. I'm even shorter than you and if something is cut narrow on the lower waist then it hits me at the hip and will not fit. I horrified a sales lady one day last summer when I tried on an Edme & Esyllte blouse in an 8, then asked for a 10, and then a 12 and they all looked awful--too tight around my hip and bigger and bigger in the waist and chest.

Shakespeare's Feminine Ending, I totally have the same problem. I have a small waist and although I am bosomy I am somewhat petite up top and short waisted. If I size to fit my hips everything else ends up fitting kind of blousey and big. Thank you for reading!!

Thank you CMF221!! Gabes and Rugged Warehouse are owned by the same folks. It is sort of like a Big Lots for clothing. Not glamorous at all but sometimes fun!
