Leifsdottir Paso Dobble Dress review

In my previous entry, a Leifsdottir dress (called Paso Dobble at Anthropologie) is pictured behind me and I did try it on but didn't include the review. Since then a reader asked about it and because I cannot post photos in my comments section on blogger, I figured I would just make a quick review entry.

This Leifsdottir dress in polka dot silk was so cute on the hanger that I decided to try it.  I loved the graphic mod print and the draping at the neckline. But I ran into the same problem I usually have with Leifsdottir. The hips were too narrow and the hemline was too short. Even the 10 felt too small and slightly scandalous on 5'3" me. Still, this one ran smaller than similar styles from this brand. I typically need a 10 in  Leifsdottir dresses that feature a mini-skirted hemline. I do size up with this line as it is a brand that is cut for narrower hips than mine. This dress was no exception, unlike the Cathedral Garden/Curled Zinnia dress in which I took an 8 comfortably. I don't know if this one was in a broad range of stores or if it just appeared at Bloomingdales. Anyway, I hope this is helpful!

Thanks so much for the review! I was the one who asked about it :)

I really like it on you...the graphic design is interesting without being overwhelming...I don't like it as much as the coat that you reviewed earlier, though. I would be interested in checking this dress out myself, but since I'm 5'8", it's probably out of the question length-wise based on your review. I really wish leifsdottir wasn't so hung up on the 34" and 36" lengths they like so much. I've tried on dresses before from that brand that bordered on indecent.

I think it looks quite nice on you! I agree that I often find their dresses a bit too short, and they are cut rather narrow through the hips. Still I love them.

You know I spotted that behind you yesterday and figured you had saved a review for a future post. I adore that dress (not the price mind you) and to me it looks great on you :)

I love that. The print is amazing, and the fit is so perfect. The length is good on you. You've got great gams.

Ahh!! No problem, anon! I didn't realize that this was on anthro.com too. It is really pretty but too slim through the hips. I would be more comfortable with a shorter length if I didn't carry weight through my legs the way I do. I just don't feel like I can pull off short. But I love short looks on other ladies!

Roxy, thanks so much!

Basiccravings, You are too kind!

Louise, It is so pricey! Leifsdottir prices always make my jaw drop. It's crazy how much they ask for the pieces, even if they are really pretty.

Desert Flower, you are too kind. I wish I had great gams. YOU have great ones! xo
