Oh how I loved this Tibi Chantilly dress when I first saw it on Shopbop! I waited patiently for a sale and eventually it was marked 70% off during Saks.com's Thanksgiving promotion. I hoped it would be true to size for Tibi but noticed the narrow hips so I ordered one size up. This was a mistake. I should have grabbed a dress that was two sizes up because the hips run very narrow. But the top kind of runs on the bigger side of true. The dilemma meant that despite the great price, I've already returned it without bothering to locate an exchange. The dress is lined and a cotton silk blend which is substantially stiffer than my 100% silk Tibi's. Although I adore the print, I am just not built for this kind of shape. The shot of the back is especially lumpy. Oh well!

That's exceedingly generous, Marianne. If I put up a video that demonstrated how when I walk the dress wiggling up higher and higher, you would see otherwise. :) But yeah it isn't especially offensive in the arm posed shot cause the arm pose is the magical flattering pose for everyone.

I agree that it looks *great* on you in the photos, but I cannot abide a dress or skirt that rides up. Definitely return!
Nertz, because it is sooooo amazing on you in the pictures! I definitely can't stand it when skirts ride up, so I guess it has to go back. But it's a shame because it looks like it was made for you!
I agree that it does look amazing on you in the pictures but if it wriggles around and feels uncomfortable, I agree, back it goes!
And also, while the colours are rich and the pattern is fascinating, there is the issue of the crotchal highlighting (to put it indelicately) that the pattern seems to work here. For me, this would be disastrous in the unforgiving undergraduate classroom so maybe it's best that it went back?

Kate, you are too sweet! I think if I could hold still it would be worth considering keeping but I am a fidget machine which means this dress is going to gathers its way into being both unflattering and uncomfortable.
Dorky, you are very sweet! It is already returned and yeah after seeing these photos, I too noticed the print placement as being a little... questionable. haha I lol'd at crotchal highlighting.
I'm sad that you returned this dress because it seems so flattering! It looks great and gives you a wonderful hourglass shape. But I know all too well how photos are deceptive. I hate skirts riding up, so I completely understand your returning it. For what it's worth, I think you look like a knock out in this piece.
