Hazy Days of Summer OOTD

Anthro top and skirt
Cynthia Rowley bag
Chloe flats

I wore this to go out with friends to our favorite bar. It was the first time I finally managed to incorporate a top that has been tough to wear cause of the color and sheerness. Thankfully the bar is lit dimly.

I adore that skirt! Does anyone know its Anthro name?

Thank you, Marianne!

Hi KL! I think it was called the Daisy Quarters Skirt. It is by Lauren Moffatt so you could probably run ebay searches for either. I hope this helps!! Thanks for reading!

The top is a bit sheer but I was drawn to its details. Thank goodness for dim bar lighting. haha!

Thanks so much! I don't mind looking young on the weekends. :)

I probably look wide in these silhouettes according to some, but I don't mind that. For better or worse my personal sense of style and what "flatters" doesn't always mean "makes me look thin." haha But I empathize and totally know what you mean. I am pretty busty and slightly short waisted so a high waisted skirt has the tendency to make me look boob-tacular. I just try my best to plan time of day and expected audience, lighting, etc., accordingly. For example, I wouldn't wear this outfit to work. But I would wear the skirt with something else on top.

Anyway, I do think that Anthro carries many petite-friendly clothes. Some of their dresses and skirts are offered in petite sizes (with shorter lengths and petite-friendly cuts) though I am not sure if the petites are carried in my local store. The other thing that has helped is the popularity of shorter lengths. Shorter lengths are not so mini on my short-ish self (I am 5'3). I hope this helps and I do apologize for my delay in response! I was out of town with family so I was away from the computer for most of the time.

Thanks Victoria! I couldn't recall its name. I wish I had a better memory for that stuff.

Hi Laura, thanks so much for the info! I knew it was an older top so it couldn't be in current stores (unless it is a regular release, or a re-name). I bought it last summer on sale.

You are too sweet! Thanks so much!

I don't think I've tried the gathering tank but for reference, this climbing cowlneck is pretty thin and a bit sheer. I am glad I got it on major sale (for $9.95, if I remember correctly) because as pretty as it is, it has the potential to venture into scandalous territory.

I ordered the Climbing Cowl too. I'm surprised I didn't recognize it on you.  Your hair covers the neckline.  So it was hard to tell.  I returned the top for the exact reasons you stated.  I'm a bit on the busty side and the chest tended to pull too much and the fabric is so thin I would need to wear a padded support because my lined support was not enough to block out High Beams.  Ha-ha!  you look great! And I really appreciate your "wear what I want" attitude, regardless of what others think or how something might "make you look"...very admirable approach to fashion. so, thank you for the change of mind (and heart).
i will be looking more into anthro for clothes to fit my frame. this has definitely been helpful. hope you enjoyed your vacation!

Hi Jess,  This isn't the Molded and Melded Tee.  So it must be the Gathering Tank I have been waiting for months to go on sale.  Grrrr Anthro.  Great Skirt.  I love the cut-out hemline.  Very unique!  Have a great evening out.

Ah ha!  I wasn't sure.  I didn't find that tank flattering on me.  And I think I ordered it too Small. From my Yahoo Mail - Laura

Pretty, pretty! I love tee's that have a little detailing to keep them from being boring or basic.

that outfit is ADORABLE!! and very flattering on you...it makes you look young but is totally appropriate. i usually have trouble with anything but pencil skirts because they make me look shorter and wider. at 5', i can't afford that!! you look on the petite side, too. do you find this problem, as well? also, does anthro. make clothes cut for petites?
