A Fall Jewelry Giveaway from Anjolee!

I am excited to announce a special fall giveaway from Anjolee! Fall has long been my favorite season. My mother as well as both of my siblings were born in fall. It is when I got married to Chris. It is also when I gave birth to Emilia.

I can't believe that I am coming up on her first birthday already! Time really flew. I've been amassing some jewelry pieces that feature her birthstone and am eager to give one away to a lucky reader. Anjolee was happy to help.

Anjolee specializes in fine diamond and gemstone jewelry. They have a wide selection of highly customizable pieces including many beautiful diamond pendants. To celebrate the color palette of changing leaves (and one of the birthstones of the season), Anjolee would like to give a reader of Consume or Consumed the chance to win a sterling silver necklace featuring a genuine citrine pendant, as pictured above.

There are many ways to enter. This giveaway is open only to US readers.

Edited to add: The giveaway has closed and for some reason I don't seem to have the option to display the winner drawn in the widget. The winner drawn was Julie who I have contacted and helped arrange for the retrieval of her prize. Thank you to everyone who entered. I will have another giveaway soon enough!

Birthday Jewelry Giveaway from Anjolee

I just celebrated a birthday. And the blog is celebrating one too. This year, for the first time I will also be celebrating Mother's Day as a mom as well as a daughter so I have been contemplating ideas for things I'd like to do as well as give. I've also been thinking about birth and birthstones. I was born in April with CZ/diamond/white topaz as my birthstones. My due date was in December so I anticipated that I'd be able to commemorate birth with a cool, blue-hued piece. Thankfully I didn't rush into purchases because Emilia arrived early and I'm eying the deeply warm yellow of November's citrine.

Anjolee specializes in fine diamond and gemstone jewelry. They have a wide selection of highly customizable pieces like bangle bracelets and diamond eternity bands. To celebrate my birthday, Anjolee would like to give a reader of Consume or Consumed a chance to win their own eternity band gemstone ring with CZs, set in sterling silver. It is just like the one above (except my piece is set with Emilia's birthstone! Review to come!). An eternity band would make a great costume ring, a nice sparkling gift, or if you have an April birthday like me, a birthstone piece!

There are many ways to enter. This giveaway is open only to US readers. A representative from Anjolee will be put into contact with the winner and send their prize directly

Congrats to Cecilia, the winner of the Anjolee giveaway!

To be transparent about the administration of this contest, I want to clarify some things. Before generating random draw, I checked entries to confirm eligibility. I also added appropriate comments to apply additional entries (for liking Anjolee or Consume or Consumed on Facebook and for tweeting) to those contestants that didn't already do so. I then closed the comments (of which there were 156) and entered the numbers into Random.org which generated the following:

Displaying the "oldest comments first" I counted from the beginning to comment number 21, which is commenter/reader Cecilia.

Congratulations to Cecilia! I have emailed her, cc'ing the representative with Anjolee who will administer the delivery of her prize. Yay!

I want to thank Anjolee for hosting this exciting and generous giveaway!!

Thank you also to the wonderful readers who participated in the contest. Don't fret if you didn't win this one. I will be announcing another exciting giveaway this week so be sure to stay tuned.

And the sky was made of amethyst

Amhara skirt
Ann Taylor Loft top
Baggu bag
 Amethyst pendant necklace (c/o Anjolee)
ChloƩ flats

Although my birth stone is technically the diamond, I have been devoted to the color purple for as long as my relatives can remember. My aunt loves to remind me of the haphazard kiddo pronunciation I would employ as a toddler (which sounded more like "poupull" than purple). So I was excited to be contacted by the folks from Anjolee when they asked me if I would review an amethyst and diamond necklace. Their unique website offers customizable pieces (diamond necklaces, earrings, rings, bracelets, etc.) that you can design based on your preferences. I selected a white gold necklace with an amethyst and diamond pendant (though, in this case the "diamonds" from my necklace are actually cubic zirconia). It arrived in a very shiny wooden box and I couldn't wait to wear it.

Since then, I've paired the necklace with so many different types of outfits, both dressy and casual. Here I paired it with a skirt from Anthropologie and a top from Ann Taylor Loft. In wearing it, I've noticed a few things that I am happy to share for the review. While I love the look of the very delicate, simple chain, the clasp is tiny and a little difficult to fasten without the assistance of a friend. I have no trouble removing it myself. The amethyst pendant stays front-facing most of the time and the clasp of the necklace didn't seem to migrate toward it. It looks really nice with other silver-toned/white gold jewelry, so I enjoy layering the piece with things I already have. This necklace would make a lovely bridesmaids gift or occasion present. I know I loved receiving one!

Anjolee have expressed interest in hosting a giveaway for my readers in the near future so be sure to keep an eye out for that! Thanks for reading!
