Discount Spotting: Jessica Kagan Cushman Bangles

Fashionism.org poster, Thegreyfox mentioned that she found some Jessica Kagan Cushman bangles in the jewelry display counter at her local TJ Maxx. Intrigued and envious, I headed to my nearest store, at the Waterworks to investigate.

Sure enough, there were bangles to be found. And they had been deeply discounted from their $125+retail price.

Though I didn't find bangles emblazoned with my most coveted phrases, "Darling I love you but give me Park Avenue," from the Green Acres themesong and "I want to be the girl with the most cake," from the Hole song, "Doll Parts," I did find a few cute ones.

"Vodka Martini. Shaken, not stirred."
"Are we having fun yet?"
"xoxoxoxoxoxoxo"

I left behind quite a few (duplicates of what I bought along with ones that referenced buddy list deletions and Spanish phrases unfamiliar to my). But now, I'm as consumed by the notion that I need to search every nearby TJ Maxx as I was during the Great Wolford Frenzy of February 09! I guess I'll hit up the Waterfront next!

Ha, I can see how those bangles can become an obsession - they're awesome! Thankfully there's no TJ Maxx over here to tempt me! Although the UK has a TK Maxx... hmm, I wonder if they'd have those...

Awesome bangles! I will look out for them next time I'm at TJ Maxx.

Haute-shopper, I believe TK Maxx and TJ Maxx are the same company! Maybe they'll pop up there. Recently our TJ Maxx stores had a shipment of Wolfords from Figleaves.uk so they do seem to cross the pond with nice merchandise!

ClandestineChic, happy hunting! :)

omg seriously? I need to check my local TJ Maxx and Marshalls. Sometimes they carry similar stocks. Score!

Are those ever faked?
The ones at TJ Maxx don't have the ©JESSICA KAGAN CUSHMAN inscribed on the inside and the tag says FASHION CHINA.

^An add to that post, even her own "knock-off" line has ©JKC inscribed on the inside and they retail for about $25.

I was excited to find them, Sandra!

Anon, All of mine (and all the ones I fondled but didn't buy at my TJ Maxx) have the copywright inscription on the interior of the bracelets. They also come with the JKC tags. The "Fashion China" tag, if you look closely, is a TJ Maxx tag used for the purpose of sticker-tagging on smaller items. I would wager they are real. Especially after being gifted one that says, "I want to be the girl with the most cake," that had tags from Neiman Marcus still attached.

Though I do suspect these could have been faked... It seems like these came in with the shipments from that contained the other great designer stuff people have been finding at the Maxx, lately.

Anon, If you look closely at the second photo, you can see the inscription on the interior of the Vodka Martini bracelet. I hope that helps!

My apologies, I didn't mean to rain on your parade! I was just trying to keep an eye out for my fellow shoppers.

I myself am a shoe addict and there's been a flood of fakes on the market, it's sickening. That's why I kind of look out for little things such as that. I wasn't by any means saying that yours were fake.

I had actually bought the XOXOX bracelet that did not have the copyright. When I went to return it, the 2 others that were there did have the copyright but they were $5. more, it's kind of odd, imo. But I thought that I should come back and add this post as yours are surely authentic.

I'm so glad that you were able to find some with the cool phrases on them. Good luck on your hunt for more, they are truly fabulous!

Thank you for returning to post! I really do appreciate your heads up about the inexpensive JKC line and the possibility of fakes. I am usually very diligent about protecting myself from being fool by counterfeiters but that doesn't mean I am always on guard.

I too have noticed many of my favorite shoes being faked. It is shocking! Knocking off a design is one thing (and I don't usually ethically agree with it because most often the places doing the knocking off are using questionable, if not abysmal labor conditions in which to produce their volumes of knock offs).

Anyway, thank you again for your thoughtful comments and for reading my blog!! You didn't rain on my parade at all! You educated me!
