I bought this dress from Anthropologie by Maeve a few years ago. I always loved how the shape was evocative of a dirndl but the print reminded me of a grandmother's drapery.

Marc by Marc Jacobs captoe flats (similar here and here)
I wore this on a dog walk and to the Farmer's Market that just started back up, only a block away from my home! I bought a flat of flowers, some asparagus, wheat pita, and a few baked goods from the church who owns the parking lot where the market is held. Like the klutz I am, trying to navigate crossing the street with a leased dog and an open box of cupcakes iced too tall to close the container proved disastrous. The wind picked up and took the box with it. Thankfully, I caught everything except the one baked good designated as mine. Hopefully the birds or the squirrels will enjoy the icing mound I left for them!
Happy Have a Cute Day Floral Week!

That dress does have something very dirndlesque about it. The print is fantastic!
Thanks so much for your sweet comment! Obviously, I wish it were tenure-track, but in this market I feel very lucky. It was the worst market in History in four decades, as well. The AHA was a scene of melancholy and desperation, and I'm sure the MLA was pretty gloomy, too, this past year.
Thank you so much!
I had to write a followup to my comment on your job news. I totally know (from your name, of course) that you are in an AHA field and that is what I meant but transposed MLA because the link I had with data about it being the worst job market of the last 35 years was regarding specifically MLA fields. I hope you will excuse the mistake. Things were as if not more tough (at least from my casual observations of the history jobs page on academic wiki) for aha folks as they seemed for those within mla fields.
Oh, no worries! :)
Yeah, I felt like a fucking rockstar having interviews at all this year. It was a nightmare of a market. I'm hoping next year will be better. *fingers crossed*
Well, now I want cupcakes. You look very pretty :)
mmm, cupcakes.....oh sorry, forgot the point of this post was the dress! I really want a cupcake now lol. Anyway, the dress is great, but I keep looking at your hair, it's getting so long! Are you growing it out for the wedding?
Another gorgeous dress! You must have the most amazing closet. Thanks for you comment on shopping/procrastination thing. I am procrastinating right now, but I actually don't think it's so terrible. I can't actually work non stop for 12 hours, so it probably keeps me sane.
Sounds like you had a real adventures. Cupcakes sound good right about now.
I love the older Anthro stuff. My best piece are from 2006. You dress is fabulous!! Gosh, how lucky you are to live a block from the farmer's market. So jealous!!
You look great! I really adore the square neckline of this dress.

Oh, I love this dress! The print is amazing.
Sorry to hear your baked good bit the dust.
A Stylized Hysteria, I almost went back and bought another but then I was like, "not meant to eat a cupcake today." :( and moved on...
Brianna, My hair is long and I am growing it with wedding hair on my brain. I want to lighten it a little too. Maybe with some Garnier 111. :)
Rad in Brooklyn, thank you! My closet is actually very small so I stock things seasonally, out of necessity.
Cat I too love older Anthro stuff! I love seeing it on blogs of others and returning to my favorite pieces of seasons-past. The farmer's market is a definite bonus to my home's location.
Melanie, thank you! I also think the square shape makes this dress unique.
Desert Flower, The print is my favorite part of this dress! I really didn't need a baked good but was the saddest when I had a casualty.
Thank you all for reading!
