Cartography Cardigan and Map Print Handbags

Perhaps this isn't the smartest combo of pieces but I have been trying to find a way to wear the orange Reed shirtdress without feeling like a neon sign. I paired it with the neutral palette of the Cartography Cardigan.
Reed shirtdress in orange from Anthropologie (similar here and here)
Cartography cardigan from Anthropologie
Studded belt from Forever 21 (similar here)
Very Volatile shoes from zappos
Vintage Kenneth Cole bag from a clothing swap
After seeing the map print for the first time in the store months ago, I was reminded of the very popular leather handbags featuring map prints. They were everywhere in the 90s.
I decided to seek one out on ebay because they retailed for way too much. Apparently they are still made by Alviero Martini.

I adore those bags. I've been eyeing them up for awhile now. The one on the bottom right is my favorite.

You wear that cardigan well. I think you accomplished what you set out for re: neutralizing the dress.

I am surprised at just how versatile this cardigan is. It looks great with the Reed. It's almost like the cardigan is a neutral.

Thanks for the collection of map print bags. There are some nice ones out there, who knew!

I love the combo of the muted cardi + the bright dress. Your posts give returner's remorse over the cartography cardi, even though mine had a hole in it. Thanks for all the other map inspiration :)

Ady, yay! My goal was to tone it down.

Amblus, thank you!

Lindsay Jean, I swear I recall seeing them at many thrift stores over the years but I never bit. I hope the ebay one I found comes soon.

My name is gee, thanks so much! I hope Anthro expands to your neck of the woods soon!

Carole, thank you! I love how you wear the cardigan too.

Desert Flower, I am usually only drawn to printed dresses so to have a printed sweater threw me at first. But the colors in this are just muted enough that I am treating it like a neutral for the sake of versatility.

Cat, thanks so much! I am so sorry to hear yours was damaged. That is really disappointing.
