Anthropologie Second Cut Result: Lanai Breezes

Not crazy about the pleating and bunching of the Lanai Breezes Shift dress. The flimsy matching tie/belt that came with it held nothing in place so I paired it with the more substantial suede knot belt. Even at 75% off, it seems too seasonally specific and oddly shaped. For reference, this is a size medium and it fit true to size. It is fully lined. I felt like it needed pockets and it was odd it lacked them. I grabbed it because I believed I could maybe bring it on my honeymoon. Honestly, I think I can find something I like more. Back it goes!

Oh, I think it's cute and looks really nice on you, but it is very summer-specific.

it's cute, but it doesn't seem very "everyday jess". ps where are yinz going?

It does look extremely adorable and doesn't fit too bad --- you are right though don't settle for a dress if you can find something better.... esp one with pockets! love dresses with pockets...

I didn't think this dress could look good on anyone, but it certainly looks good on you. I'm having the same problem with the Marine Mural Dress. I could only wear it a few times, and I know its' a work of art, but I kinda feel silly payin $130 for a dress I won't wear very often, when it could go toward other things I would wear more.

Have you decided where you're going for your honeymoon?

Well, I can't see any pleating or bunching in the photos, but if you don't love it, send it back!

And yes, inquiring minds want to know your honeymoon destination!!

Thank you Amblus, Erin, and Jessica! I think returning is the right decision!

Tien, You are way too kind! The Marine Mural dress is really lovely and special but yeah... also kind of lacking in versatility.

Tien and La Historiadora, Chris will be leaving for South America after the wedding to do some dissertation research so I am going to likely meet him in December when I am done teaching. We hope to meet in Brazil (likely Rio) for a week. Then in summer of 2011 we want to go to Europe (probably an island in the Mediterranean). So it will have two legs if all goes well financially and in terms of career/diss. progress. Thank you for asking!

Thanks again for inviting me to the challenge, Sabina! It is going to be tough!
