I grabbed this from the Yoox 70% off sale with an additional 10% off and free shipping coupon. It is very cute but it has a hemline that is longer in back than it is in front. I didn't realize just how short the front would be. And I'd love some help deciding if it is too short for a curvy 30 year old gal to pull off. I will likely wear it with tights in winter to make it all-season but for summer it is a tad scandalous compared to my normal comfort zone. And because of the special pleated details of the hemline at the front and the ruffled back, I am loathe to utilize my usual exposed slip solution. What do you think
Back detail.

I'm with you on hemlines above the knee. Always make me feel a little uncomfortable. But this dress does not look too short at all! Have you done the bending test? That usually helps me. For summer, I feel better about wearing shorter hemlines with flats. Have you given that a try? Maybe it wouldn't feel as scandalous. The dark color also tones it down. With that said, I don't think it's scandalous at all, and it looks really cute and professional.
Hmmm. It's certainly a beautiful dress that hugs you in all the right places and falls so very, very well. As I rarely see you show much leg above the knee, I can understand your discomfort with this teensy change.
Can you see yourself getting more comfortable with it in time? If so, I think it's fine as it. If not, can we see it with the exposed slip?
Agh! It's fine (lovely, even) as iS, not "as it."
I think it looks great on you. Even with a slightly higher hemline. I Love the ruffle detail too.

the length looks great on you, i think, and i don't know if i'd love this dress as much with a longer hemline. keep!
I really like this dress and hope you keep it! It looks great on you! I can see why you might be concerned by the length, but since you're so covered up on top, it looks chic, not scandalous.
I would totally wear that dress, and I'm 30. So, yes, please please keep it.
dress looks great! nit too short at all, especially if you wear it with tights in the winter.

Not too short at all! My rule is if it goes past the tip of your fingers when you have your arms hanging down, it's a long dress. So for me this counts as a long dress. And a very pretty one! xx
Jess! I'm giving you an incredulous look right now. It is absolutely NOT too short in the front, it makes your legs look fantastic, and it's very pretty.
I also worry about length a bit, particularly because I'm tall. I think the proportions of this dress work really well, the high neckline balances the slightly shorter front perfectly. It looks good with heels, it will look fabulous with tights and boots, I'd also wear it with pretty flats. Keeper in my opinion. You have great legs!
this dress looks amazing on you. i vote for keeping it and wearing it with confidence!

I agree with Najeema - I am incredulous! You have fantastic legs and if this dress were five inches shorter I would still tell you to keep it (but then, I'm in habit of wearing shirts as dresses, so...). You have been looking AWESOME lately! It must be the glow of being a bride-to=be!
I think it looks great - not too short at all. The fact that the hem is shorter at the front than at the back makes it interesting, I love it.
Firstly - your figure is amazing, secondly, I think the dress is an awesome length and you have gorgeous legs, so flash 'em a little... just be sure to slap on an extra splash of confidence and you'll totally rock it. I also like the suggestion of wearing it with tights in winter.
*Super* late comment here, but I just had to say that this dress is adorable and you looking slammin' in it! I really really hope you kept it!
