Two-Wheeler Shirt Dress OOTD

One of my favorite bloggers, Anjali of Golden Means and I are outfit twins today! I wore this dress last night to a friend's bday party and am sporting it again for a free outdoor Yo La Tengo concert at Hartwood Acres. And as cute as it is, I share her frustrations over this frock. WHY IS THIS NOT YET ON SALE?! And WTF is up with the sizing?! The dress is by Porridge from Anthropologie. I sized down to a 6 to fit in the bodice and waist but the sleeves left as they are with the buttons closed kind of suffocate me.

Thankfully, I had a few neutral hair bands that I fashioned to expand the sleeve holes a bit the way some of my pregnant friends have used these or something similar to extend the button closures on their non-maternity clothes. I paired the dress with a Linea Pelle belt (similar here), a vintage map print handbag, a vintage necklace, and vintage wedged shoes in the style of Worishofers. I think it will make a great concert outfit for tonight too, since it is comfy, flowy, and long enough to wear while sitting in the grass on a blanket, listening to noisy drone-y indiepop! Maybe I'll grab a cardigan in case it is chilly.

You look lovely Jess! I love all the light tan accents you've added :) And your solution to the arm-bands is ingenious, I will have to try that soon myself. Yay for being outfit twins! (And oh, I am one of your favorite bloggers?! I am beet red right now!)

I love this outfit! The belt and bag are perfect touches. I really like those colors with the blue of the dress.

Ah! I've worn that dress many a time already! It looks fab on you!

My issue with the sizing is the waist for sure. When I bought it, one of the sales clerks told me that she had seen almost every woman who had been in the store that day try it on. Only a handful of others aside from I had bought it, though.

Both you and Anjali are having me reconsider this dress. It looks wonderful on you. I love your creative alteration to the sleeves, which is what killed it for me. And oh my, what have you been doing to your hair? It's phenomenal!

Outfit twins, I love it! That dress really shows off your shape. Beautiful!! I swear it must be going on sale soon, the stores by me just restocked again. (Though I thought the same thing when they restocked 4 weeks ago so who knows.)

I just love this one on you! Despite the fit issues (I had mine altered), it's one of those special dresses. I'm glad it found its way to your closet.

I think the accessories compliment that dress really well! It looks perfect for an outdoor concert! I'm sorry about the sizing frustrations, I hate it when a dress fits fine in one area but awkwardly in another.
