Belt crazy

J Crew cardigan and top
Anthro skirt and belt
Chloé flats

I belted another cardigan. This isn't even a look I normally wear because of the adjustments and fuss required. But last month I bought two thin belts on sale, that actually seem to stay in place, and now I can't seem to stop. One of the reasons why I've been doing it is because of how it changes the proportions of a look. I am a bit short waisted and I am generally just short. So cardigans are often a bit longer on me than I might like, especially if I am wearing them over a dress or skirt. The belt emphasizes a waist that might otherwise get obscured in an outfit. But I feel overly fussy when I do it. And by the time I am done for the day, about to commute home, the first thing to go is the belt.

I like to belt over a cardigan for the same reason - short and short-waisted. =) You look great here.

I love the fact that a belt changes up the feel of an outfit.  It also adds such great shape that I'm addicted to belting myself.  I love that top, BTW!

Wow - I love that outfit!  And I agree - the belt is always the first thing to come off when I get home to!
PS - I live in Cleveland, we are relatively close and deal with the same horrible weather, lol!

haha and they look excellent on you so it makes sense! I worried for some time that I was too busty (and short waisted) to belt. But I've gotten over that.

Thanks so much, Jenn! I got a great deal on it. I like how bold the collar is. It's great for layering.

Haha! I have done that mid day before. But usually I tough it out until the end. I HAVE been known to loosen a notch or two after a big lunch. :)

Thank you, Mel! I was this close to planning a weekend anniversary excursion to your neck of the woods but got invited to a wedding here so I am staying in town. Maybe next year! I love Cleveland. :)

Thank you, Carol! Short and short waisted belters, unite!

Yes! Belts look excellent on you but they do feel constricting especially after a long day of teaching.

I love this outfit. It's so cheerful but the colors are very autumn.

I like a belted cardigan, but I am the same way. Often I take it off in the car before I have even left the parking garage at work.

What a gorgeous autumnal outfit! As you may remember, I use to belt all the time.  I have been belting less and less since the beginning of this year, though. I did it the other day and felt constricted the whole day.
