Roadrunner, Roadrunner

I've been listening to a lot of albums that I typically reserve for summer and wondering when the cold will come back. In the meanwhile, The Kink Kontroversy, The Velvet Underground Loaded, Modern Lovers (S/T), and Sleater Kinney's Call the Doctor provide my life's current soundtracks. Do you choose the music you listen to based on the time of year/seasons?

I could have titled this post, "this is what it looks like when worlds collide." You see, I wore this to guest lecture for a campus writing course on blogging. It was fun to pay such a visit and share my enthusiasm for blogging with undergraduates. I also pointed out that I'm by no means an expert but I did the best I could to share what I've learned. I hope they enjoyed it because I know I did!

Outfit specs:
Anthropologie rosette dress (called Bold Boutonniere) (Similar here and here)
Anthropologie Cartography Cardigan (Can't find similar options but I love this beautiful but pricey map print scarf)
Miu Miu flats (similar here, here, and here)
MBMJ Softy Max Satchel
Misc. Jewelry from Redraven Studios, Carolee (c/o), Linea Pelle, KJL, Target

Yes! I do have seasonal albums. I would put that Modern Lovers album at the top of my late spring/early summer (something about blasting Government Center with the windows open...those hand claps!). I love listening to Nickel Creek's first album in the fall...I can picture the leaves swirling around my car (I even see a very particular road in the neighborhood where I grew up!).

I'm with you, by the way, regarding this bizarre weather (it looks as though Chicago and the 'Burgh have been having similar ups and...well, mostly ups, temperature-wise). It creeps me out. My seasonal sensibilities (well put!) are so off, I don't know what to do. I keep thinking it's May, and freaking out about summer employment (I'm a teacher), and then realizing it's only spring, not summer, break. Aside from that, the blooming of trees is killing my allergies, probably messing severely with insects (mosquitos, bees), and generally reminding me that our planet is in serious trouble. Which terrifies me.

Thanks, as always, for a good read...and for reminding me of how much I miss Pittsburgh!

Cheers,
Mindi

The Government Center is such a great jam!! And it definitely feels summery. I'm not familiar with Nickel Creek. I'll have to check them out.

My allergies are also acting up early but not nearly as much as my partner's! His are really bad of late. It all makes me feel really uncomfortable. I'm not a scientist but this feels so off balance. I do recall a spate of weather from last March that involved one or two 80 degree days. But this was a longer and earlier stretch. I'm glad things are a bit cooler here now.

Thanks so much for reading! Chicago is one of my favorite places ever. :)
