What I ended up wearing to the faculty retreat

Ancient Myths maxi skirt
Limited (via Gabes) dress shirt
Delman wedged sandals (via Gabes, via Erin of Shoe Love)

I was very grateful for the input everyone offered about the appropriate attire for a faculty retreat. It became clear that if I wore the Babergh, I was going to be too dressed up and uncomfortable for a full day of strategic planning meetings in July. People were dressed less casually than I predicted so I fit right in, wearing the cotton Theory dress on day one. But I noticed many of my female colleagues wearing bright colors and maxi skirts with sandals. For day two, I took their lead. It was less hot and I was quite comfortable! I feel a little stumpy to be wearing a maxi length, but I love the print so much that I decided to keep this skirt.

You have very stylish faculty retreats!  I don't think I've ever seen one of our faculty in a maxi skirt.  Although that will change if I like the on-sale maxi dress I drunkshopped at Anthro the other night.

We have a faculty retreat coming up next week...you look comfy.  Ours tend to be fairly casual affairs.

I have a very bad habit of reading things wrong, so I totally read your post title as what you wore to the FERTILITY retreat. Ahem. Very different things.

Anyway, really like your maxi skirt. I'm short too so I stay away from the maxi, but you're definitely pulling it off.

I love maxi skirts in the summer. In fact, I'm wearing one now and it's long enough to keep me warm in the office and when I walk around in it, it swishes around and cools me off. That crazy pattern is great!

oh, nothing stumpy about it!  I like the way you've paired it with a button-up shirt instead of the usual casual tee!  It really works!
